Dylan's Story
Dylan was reported to us a stray early in November
2001. Veterinary treatment was sought for him straight away. He was
in an appalling state. A large frame cat he weighed little more
than a bag of sugar - approx. 1/5th of what he should have weighed.
This photograph was taken almost three weeks later when he'd DOUBLED
his weight so you can imagine his original state. Every veterbrae
of his spine could be counted just by looking.
He
was also heavily matted, exhausted and had a high heart rate. An
overactive thyroid was diagnosed and so after stabilsing his condition
he had an operation to remove his thyroid which was a successful
operation and also meant he was free of long term medication.
Dylan's progress has been astounding. He has put on weight at
a rate of knots but more importantly he has developed good muscle
tone especially in his back legs. When he first came in he could
not stand now although we estimate he is at least 10 years old he
loves to play like a kitten! His coat has been fully de-matted and
is now shiny and soft.
He is a remarkably friendly cat and even throughout his ordeal
and constant trips to and from the vets he has always been a perfect
gentleman.

Dylan is a very talkative cat and his favourite treat is chicken.
I have now adopted Dylan and I think I am the lucky one as he
is the most magical cat I have ever met! He adores fish meals and
lying in the garden; he's really enjoying retirement!
