my previous entries: My Introduction

My name is Ben and I am currently a resident of the Derby & District Branch.

Hi purr-fect people.

 My name is Ben, Benjamin when I’m naughty and unrepeatable if I’m really bad.

One of my carers came in the other day and asked if I would like to do a sort of dairy thing about my life. I opened one eye and said that I would have to think about it, but hey, what the heck, why not, it might be a best seller and make loads of money for Cats Protection.

 Right, here goes, there will be a bit of spin in part one, as nobody knows my former life, so get your hankies out.

 Life was rather grim. My owner hadn’t much time for me since I had grown up. It was great when I was a kitten, lots of attention, hugs and kisses and they would play with me and buy me toys. But things changed. She was always shouting and bad tempered. The kids too were quite beastly to me. I had'’ seen the man of the house for ages. Something had gone terribly wrong.

 It was on a dark November night. My owner had taken the kids to her mothers so I was enjoying a bit of peace and quiet, when I heard the key in the back door. To my surprise it was the man of the house. He rushed upstairs and in two shakes of a cat’s tail was down again with a suitcase and my carrying basket. Now hold on a minute, there was no way I was going with him. He had hit me a couple of times for scratching the furniture. The next thing I knew we were wrestling. I bit him which made him really mad and he stuffed me into the basket and flung me headlong into the back of the car and then roared off down the road. I howled and howled and he yelled abuse: then he braked really hard nd I ended upside down on the floor. The car had STOPPED! (yes, you know what’s coming.) Out I went, hurtling down a bank, crashing over rocks and almost landing in a river. It went quiet and luckily for me the fall had forced the door of the basket open. I crawled out shaken and with a feeling of fear. Where was I?

That’s your lot purr-fect people. I need some handsome sleep, time to recharge and prepare my next chapter which will be called “HOW I CAME INTO CARE.
