Ways in which to volunteer
Here a number of volunteer roles you can do:
Vet runner: These people transport cats
to and from local vets from foster units or when a cat has been reported
by a member of the public.
Field worker: These volunteers are
trained to use cat traps to catch cats such as ferals, often for neutering.
Field workers often visit feral colonies to assess the situation.
home VISITORS: Home Visitors visit potential
new owners to assess whether the home is suitable for a cat and help
the owner decide what type of cat would be suitable for them.
follow up visitor: Follow up visitors
do a follow up visit 6-8 weeks after adoption to ensure the cat is
settling in well and help the new owner with any questions or concerns.
Shop Volunteer: We have two charity
shops, in Derby and Wirksworth, shop volunteers help serve customers,
arrange the shop and sort through donations.
Fundrasing: As we are self funding
our fundraising activities are of vital importance to let us carry
on cat welfare work. Throughout the year we have a number of events
including fairs and flag days - fundraisers help set these events
up, attend manning stalls or rattling tins.
specialist roles: We often have
a number of specialist roles which require a strong commitment to
the Branch in a committee role. These roles include such skills as
financial, publicity etc. If you have a specialist skill such as accountancy/financial
etc please contact us for more information
